March 2026 Agronomy Division Update
With Easter coming early this year we are all hopeful spring will follow suit! A few days in the 60’s gave us all a much-needed break from what seems like a month of frozen temps and fields. March is a perfect time for the first application of nitrogen and weed control to small grain fields as well as full N_P_K blends for first cutting hay.
Last year’s hot dry fall followed by a month of ice and melting has some hay and pasture fields looking for help so please reach out to your field rep or location manager for and last-minute soil test, seed needs, and advice. Soil test results can be processed quickly, and results come back usually within a week allowing us to accurately make recommendations.
The snowmelt and somewhat frequent rains may make spring application challenging this year, most of our equipment is fitted with high floatation tires which will enable us to timely apply fertilizer and chemistry to your fields without doing damage. Soil structure takes years to create and minutes to destroy so please talk with your field rep or manager for timely application.
