Agronomy Division Update - May 2026

EXPERT STAFF. HIGH-QUALITY PRODUCTS. SUPPORT FOR LOCAL PRODUCERS.

April showers bring May flowers; we’ve all heard this saying since we were kids. The only difference is this is the third straight year April has been drier than average. This weather pattern although has allowed the seamless harvest of small grain, manure and fertilizer application, and the start of corn planting.

The weather isn’t the only challenge this year, with the conflict oversees, fertilizer and fuel prices have skyrocketed, continuously raising input cost on crop production. Being a farmer owned cooperative, and having farmer-based board members and employees, the Agronomy division is dedicated to serving our member-owners and all customers with sound agronomic advice for this challenging environment. Whether you need help with a farm plan, finance options, or last-minute seed needs, please reach out to your field representative or location manager.

I have said this many times before, Farmers are eternal optimist, especially in challenging situations. Ecclesiastes 11:4 “whoever watches the wind will not plant; whoever looks at the clouds will not harvest.” It is time to plant!
