SENIOR ACCOUNTANT – CORPORATE OFFICE

Our Corporate office is looking for a full-time Senior Accountant with strong organizational and professional communication skills. This position requires the ability to independently handle a wide variety of administrative support tasks and have a positive attitude. Attention to detail and time management are crucial.

This position requires the following:

  • Maintain the company general ledger
  • Fixed Asset and associated depreciation schedules.
  • Process month-end balancing and journal entries.
  • Extend credit to customers.
  • Understand the general ledger and sources of all postings
  • Prepare correspondence and emails as needed within the department.
  • Manage petty cash account.
  • Assist the CFO/Controller in tracking and maintaining company insurance policies.
  • Assist the CFO/Controller with facility support and security issues.
  • Perform other accounting, financial, or administrative tasks as may be required from time to time.

Requirements/Experience:

  • Must have three-five years accounting experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Business.
  • Minimum of 2 years of CPA firm Auditing experience.
  • Prefer CPA or CMA certification.
  • Proficient with Microsoft products, Outlook, Word, and Excel
  • Excellent team player, communication, organizational and follow-up skills.

This full-time entry level position is required to perform mill operations as assigned by the supervisor to maximize plant efficiency at our Rockingham Mill location in Dayton, VA.  Demonstrates the ability to learn and develop mill operations skill set.  Will be required to ensure efficient operations and a safe working environment.  Candidate must be able to work in a fast-paced team environment and be willing to learn/cross train in all positions.  Reports directly to the Mill Manager.

Shift Hours: Monday – Friday   8:30am-5pm:    Saturday as required

This position will require experience in the following areas:

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Good understanding of OSHA standards
  • Ability to lift up to 100 lbs
  • Two years of Ag experience

DIVISION MANAGER – AGRONOMY

We are currently seeking a strong leader with agronomic interests and the ability to drive overall operations and profitability while achieving sales, payroll, and operating budget results. This position will hold leadership responsibility for implementing the company strategy that drives overall field sales excellence and delivers sales growth. This candidate will be in a position to encourage, develop, mentor, and manage a team of managers who are responsible for leading, developing and running all Agronomy locations of Rockingham Cooperative. The candidate will also be responsible for procurement of all fertilizers and chemicals, along with planning and pricing for all product lines. Excellent communication skills, people skills and product knowledge along with strong organizational and professional skills are required. Successful candidate must be highly self-motivated, customer oriented, have excellent written, oral, and people skills.

This position will require experience in the following areas:

  • Develop and implement the profit plan for the Agronomy Division and ensure profit and sales objectives are met
  • Analyze key performance and efficiency metrics to ensure the division achieves the highest standards of performance
  • Lead all purchasing, booking, and pricing for agronomy products
  • Coordinate the operation of all agronomy locations to ensure consistency and efficiency in sales and operations
  • Plan and delegate key initiatives work closely with the team to ensure goals are achieved

DIRECTOR OF HUMAN RESOURCES – CORPORATE OFFICE

The Direct or Human Resources will plan, lead, direct, develop, and coordinate the policies, activities, and staff of the HR department, ensuring legal compliance and implementation of the company mission and talent strategy. This role is also responsible for all payroll functions such as data entry, processing and auditing payroll, and reporting. This position reports directly to the CEO.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Collaborates with senior leadership team to understand the organization s goals and strategy related to staffing, recruiting, retention, staff development, and leadership development.
  • Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local laws and regulation.
  • Responsible for recruiting, including posting jobs, screening, and interviewing candidates, and processing the pre-employment process including new hire orientation.
  • Effectively support and foster the company’s Open-Door Policy.
  • Administer HR-related policies, procedures, and regulations.
  • Develop and facilitate programs related to the health, economic, social, and safety of all employees
  • Provide support to the successful data collection and processing of bi-weekly payroll.
  • Responsible for effectively maintaining all personnel records.
  • Respond to unemployment and other government/financial inquiries regarding employment information in accordance with company guidelines.
  • Ensure the maintenance all driving records for CDL drivers, including random drug testing.
