Dayton, Virginia – On Tuesday, May 7th Cargill Animal Nutrition voluntarily recalled select Southern States feed because of high levels of aflatoxin, per FDA guidelines.

Rockingham Cooperative has been in discussion with Cargill to determine if any of our locations and customers are at risk and have determined that this recall DOES NOT affect Rockingham Cooperative customers that have purchased Southern States branded livestock feed mentioned.  Rockingham Cooperative customers can rest assured knowing that Southern States branded livestock feed included in the recall did not enter a Rockingham Cooperative facility.

“Upon further investigation into the recall by Cargill from their plant in Cleveland, NC, Rockingham Cooperative has determined that the recalled feed was never in a Rockingham Cooperative location.  The well-being of Rockingham Cooperative’s customers and their livestock is of the utmost importance, and Rockingham Cooperative will continue to operate diligently to ensure the safe handling and management of your livestocks’ feed supply.” – Keith Turner, Feed Division Manager
